A Real Campaign Moment: Choosing the Right Font for a Product Teaser

I was designing a product teaser for an upcoming summer collection and needed a bold, attention-grabbing headline that would stand out on both Instagram and Pinterest. I’d been curious about Peoples Font, a display typeface made up of stylized human figures. I decided to test it in a real design context—overlaying the word “Summer” on a bright, lifestyle-oriented background. Instantly, it added a playful, eye-catching energy that no standard sans serif could match. This was the moment I realized Peoples could be more than a novelty—it could be a campaign asset.

What Is Peoples Font and What Makes It Unique?

Peoples Font is a creative, uppercase-only display font where each letter is constructed from abstracted human figures. It’s not a traditional typeface—it’s more of a visual concept that blends typography with illustrative design. The font has a whimsical, approachable personality that feels fresh and modern. It’s perfect for campaigns that want to communicate inclusivity, community, or lightheartedness.

Visually, Peoples leans into the trend of expressive typography. It’s not about clarity or neutrality—it’s about making a statement. The letters are bold and simplified, with clean lines and consistent thickness that make them readable at a glance, even on mobile screens. The font’s design communicates motion and connection, subtly reinforcing themes of togetherness and collaboration.

Using Peoples in Real Campaign Visuals: Where It Shines

I tested Peoples Font across several campaign assets: a YouTube thumbnail, Instagram Stories, a Pinterest pin, and a digital ad header. In each case, the font performed well as a focal point. On a YouTube thumbnail, the word “New” in Peoples immediately drew attention, especially in a fast-scrolling feed. For Instagram Stories, I used it for a “Limited Time Only” announcement—it stood out beautifully against a gradient background.

In each of these formats, Peoples Font worked best when used sparingly—on short headlines, callouts, or logo-style text. It’s not a font for long paragraphs or detailed descriptions. But as a display font, it excels in grabbing attention and reinforcing brand tone.

Readability and Visibility: Tips for Best Use

When using Peoples Font, it’s important to consider readability, especially on mobile screens. The font’s stylized construction means that some letters may be less immediately recognizable at small sizes. I found that using it at 36pt or larger ensured legibility, especially when overlaid on images.

For dark backgrounds, I paired it with a light outline or glow effect to ensure contrast. On light backgrounds, a subtle drop shadow helped the letters pop. When designing for fast-scrolling feeds like Instagram or TikTok, I made sure to keep the message short—ideally three to five letters—to ensure quick recognition.

When Not to Use Peoples Font

While Peoples Font brings a lot of personality, it’s not suited for every design context. It’s not ideal for:

If your campaign requires precision, neutrality, or technical clarity, a clean sans serif or serif font would be a better fit. Peoples is best reserved for moments where you want to inject creativity, warmth, or a human touch into your visuals.

Font Pairing and Design Compatibility

One of the most effective ways I used Peoples Font was by pairing it with a minimalist sans serif like Montserrat or Lato. This combination gave the design a balanced visual hierarchy—Peoples as the bold, expressive headline, and a clean font handling the supporting text.

For more editorial-style layouts, I also tested it with a script font for subheadings, which added a handcrafted feel. The contrast between the illustrative nature of Peoples and the fluidity of a script font created a compelling visual rhythm. However, I avoided using too many decorative elements together, as it could easily lead to visual clutter.

Practical Considerations Before Using Peoples Font

Before using Peoples Font in a live campaign, I made sure to check the following:
